Go to the grocery store this morning

Hey Villagers just a heads up here as some of you know it’s October 1 :bigbow: What you may not know is that hundreds of new tenants will be checking in today and hitting the grocery stores or hitting the stores and then checking in to their rental. Tomorrow morning will be busy too.

*shrug* the big wave of part timers comes in nov., dec. and jan.....not October. Since there are plenty of goods on the shelf I'm not sure why it bothers you.

There have been sporadic shortages all year. A few weeks ago I went to the WMT Neighborhood Mkt. to pick up some Northern Beans to make soup. There were none. Nor were there any other dry beans, no red, no green, no pinto, not any except for a few packages of large lima beans. I thought that would be the last thing to disappear from the shelves.

Eighteen years here and this is a new one!!!

I do not want to be around some of these folks when there is a real, true issue.

Do a little fact checking. We do NOT have a shortage of food, we have a shortage of truck drivers and stock clerks.

The UPS Store was very busy.
People shipping food North.

This week Winn Dixie at LSL has a whole display of various beans in the produce department. I was tempted to make a big pot of bean soup.

Thank you for the reminder that lines might be longer than usual at the checkout counters, since the first of the month is always the first day of most seasonal rentals, AND this is the season that seasonal rentals are considered seasonal rentals.

Combine "first of the month" with "season for seasonal rentals" and "a Friday, which is typically the start of long weekends for people who move but are still working for a living, and take a day off on Fridays so they can have a three-day-weekend to move" and you'll likely see more folks at the checkout stand than usual.

Still probably not much of a big deal but it's certainly something to bear in mind, just in case you go to the supermarket and see longer lines and wonder why.

No food shortage never said food shortage just saying there will be more people trying to buy the same thing you are trying to buy

Big wave in October this year but obviously you aren’t aware of that.

In grocery 0600 nobody there except employees and I. So far traffic has changed very little in the last 2 weeks. Today was no exception. Stopped at baby Walmart to buy lottery tickets at 1800, 5 people in checkout, so I bought bottle of soda, using the nearly empty self check.

I'm waiting for cooler weather to make a pot of chili.

Limited parking spaces at the Neighborhood Walmart Market due to repaving.
So you better hurry, hurry, hurry.
