Stirrup's World Equestrian Center Ocala
 

If you are looking for a special occasion restaurant I highly recommend Stirrups in the hotel at the World Equestrian Center. The food, service and ambience is equivalent to to dining in a n excellent restaurant in a major city. The menu is creative and has a very nice variety. Besides the Head Chef there is a Pasta Chef and Pastry Chef.
We have gone several times and every time were extremely pleased. They are open for breakfast on the weekends and dinner daily. They are not open for lunch. Reservations highly recommended.
Entree's we have enjoyed include diver sea scallops, rigatoni with foraged mushrooms, short rib, shrimp with grits and fried chicken.
Appetizers and soups I recommend the gumbo, black eyed pea salad, shrimp cocktail, oysters and deviled eggs.
Dinner comes with wonderful biscuits and roll accompanied with honey butter and house made blueberry jam.
Favorite server is Jersey who use to work in several Village's restaurants.
The hotel is beautiful with amazing animal portraits, beautiful furniture and animal sculptures. The restaurant is done in white with high ceilings, comfortable furniture and beautiful art work. The back of the restaurant faces a large stadium where horses are shown

Went there last night for dinner. Definitely will give Mark's Prime a run for their money. Fantastic food, service and ambience. The hotel there is magnificent and we got a chance to tour around the World Equestrian Center grounds and that in itself, it worth the trip.
