You do not state what type of finish you are sealing, but I am getting information from the company that originally painted (stained) our driveway that they no longer do this due to sealer occasionally getting cloudy. After 7 years ours still looks great, so we will not be sealing.
In any case if you go forward, make sure the contractor adds a friction additive like Shark grip so you do not end up with a very slippery surface.

As with any contractors, NEVER EVER EVER pay in advance.
If some of the "Unscrupulous" contractors sense that you are new here in TV they may try to take advantage of you and you can kiss your money goodbye. You did the smart thing by asking for advice on ToTV.
