Construction on 301
 

Does anyone know what the construction on 301 between Warm Springs and the thruway is for? All I know is that whatever they're doing is forcing the already frequently congested 301 down to a single lane and making the road even slower than usual.

It's an industrial park, not part of The Villages industrial park which is going up in Coleman. Better get used to it as 301 is going to be the busiest north/south road in the area. 3 industrial parks, commercial building and family housing and apartments in Coleman plus Hammock of Fenney and the extension of DeLuna which will open all of DeLuna and Marsh Bend with a 301 entrance and exit. It's going to get worse by the day for a lot of years to come.

I think the OP is referring to 301 between Warm Springs and the Turnpike. The construction is probably to prepare the exit/entrance to Marsh Bend Trail.

That is indeed what’s going on there. They’ve just put up large concrete posts around what will be the intersection that I’ll bet are for hanging traffic lights.

There appears to also be a plan in the works to widen 301 thru that area, but that will come much later than the opening of the Marsh Bend Trail intersection.
