Recommendation - Small Wedding Venue in Central Florida
 

Might anyone have some insight on a great place to hold a small wedding near The Villages/Orlando? Our daughter is looking to have around 20 guests. She has visited 2 venues, and some of the initial quotes have been near $600 per person for what she says in an all inclusive wedding.

I was thinking at that cost we could go to the best steak house around, have a great meal and a bunch of drinks for much less. We are new to The Villages, so any information is appreciated.

Lopez Legacy has a private room. Their food and service are very very good.

Cottom Farm in Weirsdale. Beautiful setting. They do weddings also.

Also, rather than trying to justify another venue like a Steakhouse, don't you think that decision should be your daughters?

Who is footing the bill? Could play into the decision making.

Small all inclusive weddings are much more expensive "Per Person" than larger weddings.

I did reach out to Lopez, she will follow up with them next week. Do all the country clubs have the ability/desire to host small groups like I mentioned above?

Is there a chance Cottom is no longer doing weddings? I cannot locate any information on them and weddings.

It’s called Wayside at Cottom Farms. Their number is 352-751-4544. As far as I know, they still do weddings. I guess it would be best to call.

Check out WAWA. :D My sister got married in a WAWA in NJ. Made all the newspapers and some local TV. She met her (third) husband there so she asked them and they OK'd it. They figured it was great for publicity. Actually was fun albeit a bit weird.

I don't think she would seriously consider having a wedding at a steak house. Unless of course it's her 3rd or 4th wedding. She will want to go all out for (hopefully) a once in a lifetime wedding.

Outdoors, look at Shalom Park In Ocala

Appleton Museum In Ocala - available for private function and beautiful inner courtyard

Lakeside Inn Mt Dora - can do ceremony outside at lake - beautiful and WAS reasonable 15 years ago - reception inside

The Rose plantation is lovely. Beautiful outdoor Lakeside setting and the food is great. They have several small rooms to accommodate you.
