Cyclers Beware

I was out on my daily bike ride today.99% of the time I stay on the roads.Today I wanted to see how the construction on the other side of the multimodal bridge(over 441) was going so I pedaled up the bridge. On the way down the other side I was going real slow, not knowing what I would encounter at the bottom.Once I reached the bottom I decided to take a left towards the dog park. The trail looked liked packed dirt so I proceeded with caution.Next thing I know I'm on the ground:boom:.The dirt slid out from under my tires and I fell:shocked:.Like I said I was moving real slow so all that happened was I got dirty .If I had come down that bridge at a reasonable speed instead of being cautious I wouldn't have been so lucky! Some of the guys on the construction crew came over to see if I was alright.I told them I was but that they should consider putting up a sign warning future cyclists of the danger.Guess I'll be staying off these multimodal paths and stay in the road where experienced cyclists belong.:22yikes:

Road Bike, Hybred or Mtn Bike?

I take my chances crossing 441 at a light instead of going over the cart bridge.

Isn't there a sign closing the path - what if a cart went thru there?

.

Carts don't have a problem. My Cannondale road bike with it's thin wheels weren't any match for this loose pavement!!

How are the cart tunnels for riding your bikes, are they tall enough with your helmet on?

No problem on height. Biggest problem is having to stop and then go up a pretty steep incline. If you're fit no problem, if you're just getting back into riding, you may be walking your bike up from some of the tunnels.
