Yes, 3K for my sardine can 50 ft by 90 ft lot. Who said Florida don’t have high taxes? Not to mention 6% on every thing I buy.

That's better than in Tennessee where we were living, city/county taxes sound about the same and there is a 9.75% tax on goods and services.

Who is Randy Mask?

I am in Marion County, got the tax bill the other day, took a quick glance at it but I don’t pay it so not worried. I know my bank already has the money.

Lack of state income tax is a big plus

Mine dropped about $60 from last year and it is still around $8000 less than in NJ so I'm good with it. :) That plus my SS raise in Jan will finally make me financially secure. :D

I put our payment in the mail but it has not been processed yet. How long does it take them to cash the check?

Echeck is the best way to pay. No security risk, and you get an instant receipt.

Depends on the mail:ohdear: However We have more than one property, and mail at the same time, different envelopes. Not one check hits my bank of the same day when mailing at the same time. They batch deposits, if I mail around the 15th it’s usually up to 10 days before check hits my bank. But if I mail on the 25 or later, they deposit daily, so check has hit my account in 2 days. Now if you do a drive by with them, check usually hits my bank in 24hours

Developer’s new roads

Taxes can be lower if we didn’t have to pay for Developer’s new roads in south Sumter County. A new State Law limiting Impact Fee increase to 12.5 percent this year makes the 25 percent increase in our Sumter Couty Ad volarem taxes since 2019 almost permanent.

I lived in New Jersey for about 5 years, I think that says it all.

What I did find surprising was a charge just short of $100 to pay it on my credit card.

If you really want to compare your tax burden, then it's strictly on a basis of how much are you paying in total . I challenge anybody to really total up your taxes in Florida compared to almost any other state except maybe Alaska where they actually give you back money. The true value of government can be simply taken at the per capita cost. Just take our population and divide it into the state budget. In other words what does our state spend compared to other states per person living here? Now I'm not saying that the teacher should make more or we pay our workers less than others. I am simply stating a fact at the State of Florida spends less than others

They are almost twice what we paid in Nashville, TN. However, Randy's office is responsive & patient when I have tax questions or even want to vent a bit.

The Villages homes have infrastructure bonds which are paid through the tax bill so not all the costs on the bill are from the county. For those of you in district 9, the bonds were just refinanced and the lower rate reduced the bond portion of the tax bill by around 33% a savings of hundreds for the year for those still having bond balances. The refinance is allowed after 10 years from the date the bonds were issued.

No reoccurring annual bull shirt car tax! Whoooohoooo! Cars, truck and toys saves me close to $1,200 alone.
