Number of Veterans in TV?
 

Years ago I heard that 19% of Village residents were Veterans. That seems like a low number, I would have thought it was higher. Anyone have any info.

Relatively new here in TV. Are there any events today in the villages for Veterans Day?

In today's issue, The Daily Sun puts the number of Veterans in The Villages at 21,000.

About half of the residents of TV are female and there was a very small percentage that were in the military in comparison with men and also I would guess that the majority of the new owners are of an age that didn't have long conflicts going on when they were military age so much less volunteering and as we all know there has not been a draft for half a century. All in all, 19% of everyone living here is a pretty good number.

Last I researched it, The Villages had the census tract, not near a military base, with largest percent of veterans - and number 2 overall.
I think the percent is between 15 and 20%.
You can’t look at the data for cities, The Villages isn’t a city. Census tract works because TV is a census tract. I would guess TV crosses more than one congressional district.
