If you have medicare, but not collecting Soc

If you have medicare, but not collecting Social security yet. I am wondering how do you make your payments. Can you do it through your on line cking acct at your bank? Or does that payment slip have to be sent with it? Anybody know?

Paying Medicare

I went to a meeting Tuesday put on by one of the Medicare supplemental providers and someone asked the same question.

The short answer from the salesman was "they'll bill you," but I believe I have also read that you can set it up as an electronic fund transfer monthly and automatically from your checking account.

Probably, both answers are correct, depending on your own preferences.

I was billed quarterly and sent check with stub to them. Worked well for me.

Be very careful doing an electronic transfer to pay the premium. I for one do not want ANY government group having access to my bank account.

You should sign up for Medicare Part A three months before your 65th birthday. Also B if you are not working.

Making an online payment isn't the same as having an automatic deduction. The question whether Medicare can be paid via an online payment hasn't been answered.

Anybody know?
