1. Turkey Tetrazzini is not an Italian dish. It's an American dish, named after an opera singer, Luisa Tetrazzini, somewhere around 1908. It was invented by a hotel chef. The only "Italian" thing about it, is that it calls for angel hair pasta. There is nothing Italian about cream of mushroom soup, or using turkey leftovers in a casserole. It's delicious. But it's as American as apple pie.

2. Native Americans were historically and inaccurately referred to as "Indians" because Columbus set sail from Spain expecting to find passage to the East Indies. He landed in the Antilles and believed that he had just crossed the Indian Ocean. So he called the people there - Indians.

The Antilles are a sub-region of North America, even though they are not on the continent. Columbus never set foot on the North American continent at all. But the name stuck, and that was that.

3. The musical artist Seal's flagship song Kiss From a Rose has lyrics people can't quite get. Some hear it "I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey" and some say the last word is "grave." Seal refuses to tell anyone which is correct, instead telling people it is whatever they think it is. He also tells them the song means whatever they wish for it to mean. Some say it's about his romanticized love for a woman. Some insist it's about addiction to cocaine.

The lyrics are not a secret because the sheet music is available for purchase. The word is "grey", not grave.

That sheet music is incorrect. "...my eyes become large and the light that you shine CAN be seen," not "can't" be seen.

It's missing an OOOh in an a-e before "the more I get of you"

I've seen different lyric websites that state one or the other (grey vs. grave).

And I've watched Seal in interviews being asked about this, and that was his answer in ALL his interviews. That it's up to whoever's listening to decide which he's saying, and what it means.

I have seen they lyric spelled "gray". Now, just how would that change possible meaning?

Doesn't. Grey and gray are the same word, same meaning. Grey is the common British spelling, gray is the common American spelling. I spell it grey even though I'm American because it looks nicer to me. I do not, however, add a u to humor or honor as the Brits do.

More trivial facts: Seal is British. His mom was Nigerian and his father was "afro-Brazilian" according to wikipedia. He has an awesome British accent. His strange facial scars that make him look almost lion-like are the result of lupus.

.............and neighbour should have a u as well, but then again, we walk on the pavement and Americans drive on it.

There is a tremendous amount I'm songs and I can't hear clearly over and I simply just enjoy them. However I do think about what the lyrics mean quite a lot as I had an English teacher use the Beatles song to discuss poetry and I appreciate that and her, go teachers!

I guess when Croft is old and gray he will take the meaning to his grave.

Bernie Taupin told folks in interviews that the lyrics to Grey Seal were basically the result of psychedelic drug use. He would just string together thoughts and phrases that seemed to fit the music. Music critics and lyrics analysts have spent countless hours discussing, debating, and proclaiming all kinds of profound meaning to the song.
