OTA outside roof mounted antenna clarification

1 Attachment(s)
Contacted ARC on OTA (over the air) outside roof mounted antennas for for receiving television transmission. We are in Bison Valley which is ARC regulated.
Our restrictions section 9 listed below.
Simply stated ARC stated FCC overides section 9 and outside antennas are allowed.

by law - FCC says you can put up an antenna.

Can't ARC clarify this for you??
They have more clout that posters on TOTV.

Thanks folks. Great info. I still might follow Bogie Shooter's idea and discuss with the ARC first. Good to be armed with info on the FCC. First I have to find out if I even get a strong signal in my area. I assume there is an install company around there. We are not there yet.

They suggested out of sight as much as possible but again they are preempted and overruled by the FCC.

I heard it was OK on TOTV so it must be OK.

ARC cannot stop you from installing an outdoor antenna.

Or, I believe, an outdoor clothesline if you were so inclined.

I live in a neighborhood with an HOA. We've talked to ARC about this. ARC says Federal law prohibits restricting access to television signals over the airwaves. No problem putting up an antenna. You might want to be reasonable about it since you still have to live beside your neighbors.

WOW... That's really hard to believe.
Maybe there are some posters lurking on here members of ARC...

The FCC ruling overrides any deed restrictions, covenants, or homeowner associations. There is a limit on the size of the antenna. It cannot exceed 1 meter in any dimension. There may also be a limit to the height of the antenna.

Imagine, every home in The Villages having an antenna. What an eyesore. I have an antenna in my attic and I personally will not have an exterior antenna. The Villages is too nice of a place.

I have an antenna. It is very small, flat, round and can not be seen from the front or back of my house. It is mounted below the peak of the roof. It is not unattractive like the 1950’s antennas
I get over 50 channels including abc, cbs, nbc. PBS
I purchased an Amazon Recast box as a Dvr to record my OTA channels
It was installed by Les Adler 407 913 9947

Pre internet I used to have a tenant that put an antenna on the roof of a multiple dwelling… I think he said he could talk with his relatives in Romania……gotta luv Brooklyn….

The Villages can't stop you from installing an antenna but they can restrict you on where you put it. For example can you bolt a large Dish antenna to the front winow of your home? Probably not. I would check with ARC so your covered.
