Armored catfish at Fenney
 

I am posting these fantastic photos that were taken at the Fenney springs by my friend Sam Boatman. They are featuring the invasive black armored catfish. Be sure to scroll down this thread to see a few more photos.

I hope there is a whole lot of eating of those invasive fish down there in Fenney.

There was the carcass of one of these laying off the pond on 16 at marshview;
It was very different than most fish, the head and majority of the top of body was all shell or bone, the underside had two small clawed hands. The one at MV had to be 10 inches long. It was picked clean by vultures and such.

I surely wondered the same thing. To see some of the birds try to swallow an anole can be painful enough. Swallowing & digesting one of those…ouch!

I hope Sam has a good job working for National Geographic — I’m a huge fan of photography and these pictures are outstanding!
