Are there any places around The Villages that sells fresh chicken eggs?

Yes, there's usually an egg seller who shows up at the Lady Lake farmer's market on Tuesdays.

There's Heirloom Country Farms in Summerfield (352) 307-7364 and they recommend you pre-order or call ahead since they're a very small working farm and sometimes sell out quickly.

Brown & Brown is in Oxford - they're a seed company but they also have a big market and feature locally sourced produce, dairy, and eggs.

The eggs in grocery stores fresh enough for me. Unless they are still warm no way of knowing how fresh they are IMO.

If I buy eggs from a store TJ’s is the only place I trust. We have a standing order weekly from the chicken farm. Not taking new customers so no point in including the farm

Different strokes for different folks. I've had eggs that the host went out to his backyard coop and came back with the eggs. Of course we had to say how great they are. BALONEY. As I recall the whites were more runny. You never see them at stores but eggs with two yokes are fairly common. In days of old, you would crack the egg into a dish in case it had a blood-spot-an embryo

Brownwood farmers market farmstand across from the Honey stand has a family selling $5 eggs and I've gotten two yolks in one egg last week. Eggs in Europe do not need refrigeration. I leave their eggs on the counter & do not refrigerate.

In Brownwood there is the farm store that sells local grown products and they have fresh local eggs.

As long as eggs have not been washed, they don’t need refrigeration. Washing them takes off mother nature’s protective seal.

there is a sign on a post for fresh eggs, west of 301 on 466, South side of 466, not too far

Yes in South America and Europe the eggs are not refrigerated since they are not washed.

Where I got my eggs up north they weren't washed, and not refrigerated. They also weren't "large/medium/jumbo/extra large." They were "a dozen of whatever we got from the chickens within the last couple of days." They had a variety of hens, so the eggs (after washing) might be any of a number of colors/shades/hues. Including the really nifty (but small) blue egg.

She also sold duck eggs, which are big, more yolk to white than chicken eggs, have better nutritional value, and will produce better baked goods as long as you get the proportions right. (If a recipe calls for 3 medium or large eggs, you use 2 duck eggs).

We would find a nest of eggs on the farm in Kentucky that had not been washed and break one open and it would be rotten. Not sure how long you're leaving them
un-refrigerated but they will ROT after so many days.
