The Villages Sun

Interesting! We heard Alex Sink speak at Sea Breeze Rec Center yesterday. The place was full with standing room only. Unless I missed it, not a word in this mornings Sun. Maybe tomorrow.

Isn't she a Democrat? :throwtomatoes:

quidam65 10-18-2010 09:58 AM

Yes. And that's why there's not a mention in the Sun.

jblum8156 10-18-2010 10:22 AM

Wrong. There was a photo of Alex Sink in this morning's paper. Look again.

Photo on page C-6. The Local Section.
States it was an invitation-only appearence. Is that correct?

jblum8156 10-18-2010 10:26 AM

Yes. It was free but you had to reserve a seat.

Avista 10-18-2010 10:27 AM

Oh Yes, I see it now. It is a picture on C6--No article.

If you are a RAMPANT REPUBLICAN....that makes you smile.
If you are a DEDICATED DEMOCRAT...that makes you frown.

But that is how it is here.

I don't mean to hijack the thread or get off point, but I just wanted to say hello and welcome to Ajack. It is the second post and second time they've mentioned they are new to TOTV (Talk of the Villages).

So, welcome Ajack and I hope you do have fun in TV (The Villages) and TOTV!!

If you're a DIEHARD LIBERAL or INDEPENDENT ... that makes you sad.

Yeah, I know.....not allowed to have a Florida election opinion -- have not bought in TV yet. But I thought the name Alex Sink sounded familiar and here is why.....

No matter what our politics might be, most of us are surely horrified when we hear about financial fraud that targets vulnerable senior citizens. I was doing a little reading on the topic last spring and I came across a website called Safeguard Our Seniors. That is where I first saw the name Alex Sink. (and found out she's a girl)

After I read through the site Safeguard Our Seniors, I posted the link here on TOTV in the investment forum, under the title "Financial Fraud & Seniors & What the State of Florida is Doing About It."

The thread did not get any replies, but that was OK with me because it got some hits and that means some might have read through the information on the site.

I just checked the link again and I saw that the calendar of events section is up to date for upcoming meetings in Florida to deal with issues of financial fraud that can be devastating to seniors. The link I used last spring here is still a good one.

There are horror stories out there about what happens with so-called "investments." And no matter where you are politically, you might want to be aware of this Florida task force that Alex Sink has worked on.

Here is the link...

Thank-you bkcunningham. We arrived Saturday to the Villages and bought a CYV in Pennecamp. We actually bought it over the telephone but when we arrived here to look at it, we did not like it so we exchanged it for another CYV one street over. We are so exited!!!! Looks like a great night in Spanish Springs tonight. The Daily Sun has Rocky and the Rollers playing. Are they good???

Boomer,

Thanks for the link. I like how you research things. Such a nice Moderate (Boomer) voice. Mr. Boomer is a very fortunate person.
