Photos & Information about The Villages in Golf Digest

The November 2010 current issue of Golf Digest has a spread on Retirement Communities across the United States. All of the photos in the article are of The Villages. The first photo is of Water Volleyball and is on page 6. The article and photos start on page 98 and to page 107.

Below is a link to Golf Digest that has several photos taken here in The Villages. None of the photos on this link are in the magazine.

Some of you will see some of your neighbors or perhaps even of yourself.

Just back from doctor. I read the article there. It is a great recommendation for TV. We better hurry and get there before the whole country hears about the place.

maybe I missed something

Just read the article - granted, I think all of the pictures were from The Villages, even thought they compared 5 different lifestyles/locations for retired golfers - however, the Villager they focused on was living in a 4000 sf $500,000 plus premier home (on a 1/4 acre lot) and I don't think the article ever mentioned that there are many, many homes (the majority, in fact) that are WAY under $500,000.

They did say that all residents can play all the executive courses for just the cost of the amenity fee (and cart fee if you ride), but I thought the article didn't touch on the variety and cost of homes.

Thought they did the Villages a disservice in that sense. If I was just reading this article as an average income retiree (or at least someone not from a high housing cost area), I would probably think that it's not affordable for most. Maybe Golf Digest figures their average reader is in the high end category.

Ohiogirl,
I agree. Someone posted an online comment that the article featured only couples living in homes of $500,000 and up. I just posted a comment giving additional information about TV.
