Age 17.

Still like it today.........it's more like a bond than a stock.

Can’t remember for me but as a teacher my grade 3 class bought stocks Lego, or some toy company and we watched it. Great lessons in math and the kids loved it.

Houston Oil & Minerals at age 18. They were bought by Tenneco a year later.

Oldest one I still own was bought at age 20 as EG&G and is now known as PerkinElmer

Teltronics at 8 years old.

Never bought any stock. Started my 401k at about 23 but that is all, did that for 32 years until retirement.

Berkshire Hathaway at 21 years old. Wish I bought more, but at that age the most important thing to me was to scrap up every penny I could get my hands on to fund the annual ski trip to Jackson Hole.

First stock: Colt Industries 1959, age 17.

Worst stock: Enron

Best stock: BRK (now BRK-A) for about $3,200/share around 1987ish.

IBM and XOM in 1980, age 22 . . still have the IBM certificate. . . been meaning to sell IBM before i do ride it into the ground. XOM has been in the DRIP plan since then. . . doing well there. . .

Chubb & Son Insurance - 22 yrs old - employee stock option offering - payroll deduction for the cost of $35/35 shares! Left the company 6 yrs later.

Thinking I might never qualify for a pension - I never touched the stock thru good times, bad times, splits, etc. Today own 1,300 shares trading at $194 today! Will likely sell it when I want to move into the graduated assisted living concept. No reason to sll now - the qtrly dividend is super!

Sigma Instruments - about 20 years old around 1969 or so. Do not recall what I bought or sold it for. It is no longer in existence. At the time there were over 1000 employees, and we were the world's largest manufacturer of street light controls. All the company's photocells were part of my responsibility.

I invested in the Titanic at the age of 6, and 4 months later it sank.

Bought Earth Resources in 1975 @ $14. Saw it go up to $19 within in a few weeks and then it dropped to $11. About a year later it rallied to $14 and I sold it. Woohoo - I broke even! After that I invested in larger companies.

I always invested in mutual funds. The first individual stock that I bought was the Boston Beer Company (SAM) when I was 50 years old.
