Hard Water ???

We have lived in The Villages for a year
and find our water tastes different on different days.
It also seems somewhat hard.
I would like to avoid a "salt" water conditioner.
What are some things that you might be using
that work well for you. ??
Has anyone tried the Easy Water which is advertised on TV?
Also , what hard water /shower cleaners work well for you ??
Thanks for any tips that you have .

I agree with you that it tastes funny on some days and not others. ...For me it tastes..bleachy.

It isn't different in water spotting than ours in Ohio so ..it doesn't seem like "hard" water but I imagine that is compared to what you are used to. Our daughter had a home that had really BAD calcium in the water and it was awful to keep her bathroom and kitchen things nice.

We have a filtration system on the refrigerator and it dispenses nice tasting water.

I would like to know how some people like those gadjets that go on the faucet.

If your refrigerator has a filter, and you change it when the indicator light goes on, then you will have perfectly adequate drinking/coffee water. If your refrigerator doesn't have a filter, then you can buy a filter that fits over one tap. You do not need a large system water softener in The Villages. Be wary of anybody that tries to sell you one, especially if they try to impress you with a "Mr. wizard" demo.

you need a water softner.Home depot sell the Water Boss which does an excellant job. It cost around 500.00 dollars. The salt is not a factor in healthbecause the salt does not enter the drinking water . Go on line and read about water conditioners. It will explain the whole process. I have a water boss and love it

The other reason you need a water softener besides the taste of the water is that hard water is extremely bad for your skin and hair. It causes dryness and itching, so every time you take a shower you're damaging your skin.

In NY I have had bottled water delivered for years. Does anyone in TV have bottled water delivered. EX: Polish Springs, Deep Pary, AquaCool, etc?

OOPS....... another interpretation issue. I was thinking that some chunks of hard water are really handy for chilling down a jack&ginger.

I have used since TN, then Ark and now here a pur filter on the sink tap. Works great and the water taste better.

I'm used to hard water -- the Bay Area is notorious for it and almost brackish water during the summer. So, the water here really doesn't bother me. (And I only drink Coke Classic, so never worry what water tastes like but do have one of the Brita water pitchers in my fridge for the cats' water. Use some Jergen's right after showering to keep skin moist.)

However, I hate hard water stains in the shower -- I've come to swear by Arm & Hammer Clean Shower. Spray the entire shower, including faucets and glass doors; get out, dry yourself and have a great day. No muss, no fuss and it really gets the shower clean.
