6 on 6 Basketball
 

Who remembers 6 on 6 girls basketball? Did you play, and if so where? Sounds like a good modified game of basketball for The Villages.

I remember that in high school in 60’s. I also remember two had to stay in back court so only 4 could try to score. That’s way I remember it.

Iowa was one of the last states, if not the last, to play 6 on 6 girls basketball in high school. It lasted until the mid to late ‘80s. It involved 3 offensive players and 3 defensive players per team. None of the players were allowed to cross half court. Players were allowed only 2 dribbles before having to pass or shoot. When a team scored, the refs grabbed the ball and the other team would start with the ball near the half court circle. It was definitely unique.

Sounds more like mobile netball.:icon_wink:
