Charity Thrift Shops
 

We are emptying closets. Have many almost new items which we would like to go to a charitable organization, maybe a Church Thrift Shop, or any charity where it could raise money for a needy cause(?). Please give me your ideas on where these clothing items should go. Thanks.

The Baptist thrift store on Citizens blvd is among the best. Low overhead as most of the staff is not paid and they will take most anything. Goodwill has a lot of clothes on display.
It is more of a business with PAID staff. As far as charitable, most of what they raise goes to pay their staff.

We give things to the thrift store beside Wildwood Tire along Route 44 in Wildwood.

I think the proceeds help to support military veterans.

Leesburg FBC Thrift Shop - all monies go to the Christian Care Center, helping men, women, families, clinic, etc.

Habitat for Humanity has a thrift store not far from us in Leesburg. I bring all my stuff there.

Goodwill pays people that otherwise would not have a job

First Baptist has a great store in Leesburg, simply called The Thrift Store. Huge store, lots of selections, including furniture, housewares, furnishings, equipment , books and clothing. All proceeds go to the Christian Care Center which gives away 13 tons of food weekly, a free medical and dental clinic, a homeless shelter, men and women's centers for addiction and a pregnancy and family care center.

I agree. A complete volunteer staff. They do not take clothing though.

Salvation Army

CEO drives a Rolls Royce and takes more than $1,000,000.00 a year in salary. Salvation Army is a better bet.

St Paul's Catholic Church in Leesburg, they have a thrift shop.
