Few peple should have handguns, no civilians should have assault weapons. We are a disgrace to the civilized world in the number of shootings and killings in this country every day. (Not to mention the number of people killed by guns every year). And we are on a "travel watch" from multiple counries because of it. But common sense says that we need to make a national database so if anybody wants to buy a weapon they can check there to see if he’s got a felony record assault record or was committed for a 72 hour hold at a psych ward as they have to sign a piece of paper that says they will not purchase our own a gun. how hard is that to do why is there so much fight over that
