Blepharoplasty

I am hiding in my house. It has been a week. (That is why I am posting even more dissertations on TOTV than usual.)

I did it! I finally did it!

I had my eyelids done.

And I do not have that look of perpetual surprise. I do not look weirdly alert.

The bruising is almost gone. The swelling is almost gone. I always heal fast so I am.

I am still doing the frozen peas routine, just not as often. Longer than the instructions said though. And although I guess I do not have to sleep propped up now that the week is over, I probably still will for a few more days. (I think I must be trying to be one of those over-achiever types.)

By the weekend, I might be ready to nonchalantly appear in public. Wearing sunglasses to social things indoors though might just look suspicious.

I think I am supposed to wait a month before I am allowed to put on mascara and eyeliner. I will know for sure next week at the post-op visit. Anybody reading this want to volunteer how long they had to wait to put on a little eye makeup?

It looks like my only regret will be that I did not do this sooner.

I did not do this in TV. I am in my hometown right now where I know the territory and could ask at least 5 people who to go to.

But I thought maybe others here might want to share their blepharoplasty experiences and recommendations. Nobody can see us here so nobody can scrutinize the work. I love being anonymous on TOTV.

Boomer (lookin’ just like my senior picture. . .hmmmm, maybe I should change my high school hairstyle though. ;) )

Good for you!

A few male friends of mine have had that surgery as their eyelids drooped over their pupils. Medicare paid.

Many female friends over the years have had their eyes done, most for cosmetic reasons. Some were way overdone. My girlfriend at the time could not close here eyes fully to sleep for a few weeks, lol. Some I could hardly tell there had been plastic surgery as their eyes looked very natural. I was relieved to read you chose your surgeon carefully!

I had mine done ages ago, might be ready to do it again. The one thing that I remember was the surgeon told me to close my eyelids while he made the first incision. I could then see despite that my eyes were closed!

When do we get to see the before and after pictures??

Nevah! Nevahh! Nevahhh! :)

Nice try, tinker.

I took an eyes-only selfie before though. Getting there on the after.

Oh, my! You were awake for the incision!

The last thing I remember was the surgeon pinching skin above the eyelid crease and calling out a nano-number. Can’t remember the number though.

Propofol was my friend — just like the colonoscopy drug. Woke right up after. It’s a fast $urgery.

They had said something about sometimes using a little Versed before. I don’t know if they did that or not. . .

(I have always been suspicious of the root of that name for a drug. ‘Ver’ just like in ‘veracity’ or ‘verify’ or ‘verisimilitude’ or ‘veritably’ and the Spanish word ‘verdad’ = TRUTH! (Always wondered if Versed is truth serum or some such thing and I would tell them all kinds of stuff if they used that.)

I was just as surprised. Only had a local anesthetic.

Nothing I ever heard of or considered. Sounds like it worked out well for you. Hope the recovery continues to well.

It can affect your peripheral vision. There is a special eye exam to determine if it is affecting yours.

Thanks for the info - but curious - why would someone carry on a conversation on this site versus using emails to each other?
