My strategy

My strategy for voting in this election is as follows:

do not vote for anyone who does not have an R after his name.

Do not vote for anyone who would conceivably support Pres. Obama's policies in any way shape or form. You know what I mean. His progressive stuff. It would be unrealistic not to vote for those things necessary to run the country but his hope and change philosophy, out of the question.

It is important to stop being about a regime from making any further progress in its attempts to circumvent our Constitution and to change the United States of America to something that none of us seem to want.

This may not be the most perfect way to do it but I can always change two years down the road if it looks like I made mistake. I doubt very much if I'm going to think that I made a mistake.

Just some thoughts.

Sometimes it's like we're choosing between the extremes of fascism and communism, if you pay attention to the advertisements. Democrats will lead us to Marxism and Republicans would put us back on the Patriot Act-fueled path to fascism.

...*if* you pay attention to the ads.

It'll be interesting to see what the Tea Party looks like for the 2012 election cycle, regardless of what happens next month.

Yoda, you, of all people, should be up in arms about the wholesale usurping of our rights.

Google "patriot act abuses" and you'll see links going everywhere from the ACLU to Fox News. You'll see stories of AG Gonzalez saying (in '05) nobody abused the act when, six days before that testimony, the FBI delivered a report saying some of their agents HAD abused the act. You'll see stories about arrests without warrants, secret wiretaps and the infamous subpeonas given to librarians that they aren't allowed to mention.

Yes, even Fox News was reporting about abuses.

The "USA PATRIOT" Act was supposed to be used for anti-terrorism purposes but there are plenty of agencies out there who were like kids in candy stores.

Now, don't get me wrong - there were good things about that act - like allowing law enforcement agencies to share intelligence data. It boggles the mind that it took something like 9/11 to highlight the *idiocy* of saying, for example, the FBI and the NYPD can't share data.

That's pretty much my strategy this year. In these mid-term elections I want to send as big a message as I can to Obama/Pelosi/Reid and that is to support and vote for every Republican running in these mid-term elections. Like you, I figure I'll examine the efficacy of my decision to do this in the next two years. The only kink in my plan that I foresee, frankly, is the seating of a closet RINO. I so loathe a RINO more so that a Lib who's views are known to me.

I'm with you too. I hate RINO's!!!@!!

The Obama Regime now totally owns the Patriot Act with it's reauthorization and now the recent reauthorization of the 3 most controversial aspects of it.

1. The Lone Wolf Provision: Permits the government to track whoever they want without any proof of affiliation to a foreign power.

2. Business Records: Permits the government to compel third parties to hand over your business records without your notification.

3. Roving Wiretaps: Authorizes the government to to tap phones or internet accounts a suspect might use without regard to who else might use them. The government would only have to provide the court with some evidence that a suspect is suspected of switching means of communication.

The Patriot Act is now the child of the Obama DOJ.

Wait until Obama tries to get his civilian police force (read "Brown Shirts") "as powerful and as well funded as the military." You'll wish for a few patriots then.

You both make my case. Bush started and reinforced the Patriot Act and Obama has done *nothing* to curb it's abuses and even re-authorized some vile powers (as RichieLion pointed out).

As my ex would say "A pox on both their houses".

back to a strategy...

as i scanned the morning news shows i pondered the snippets and blurbs and sound bites and decided that there is absolutely no way anyone currently serving as senator or congressman/woman is and will be able to get along with another - regardless of party affiliation! they are idiots! they make me feel as if i know more than they do about what this country needs! each one of them has their own personal opinions and solutions - they are not willing to compromise or negotiate - they want it their way!

so i am voting for anyone who is not an incumbent and the incumbents can all go to....mcdonalds!
