Ship left to burn

Do you wonder why a ship full of cars is left to burn? Could it be the batteries?

Chi-Town 02-26-2022 10:27 AM

From the WSJ:

Salvage crews boarded the Felicity Ace merchant ship that caught fire with a cargo of luxury Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, Audi and Volkswagen vehicles, and began towing the vessel to safety, the operator of the ship said Friday.

Evidently not much left to burn.

What, my Bentley went up in smoke? And I had been waiting so long for it.

Just kidding.

Laugh but what about the Lamborghini I was giving my wife for her birthday?

OK people, if what they say started this fire from battery's, stop to think about the general public, (you and I)
that pay 50, 60, and 70 + dollars for electric vehicles that we can't park them in our garage because of the battery's.

What a world we live in.

Already own one and waiting on delivery of an F150 Lightning sometime in May

Those tires will burn forever. Very sad.

asianthree 02-26-2022 09:25 PM

Sad part is the soon to be owners of the cars will have to wait another 6 months to a year:ohdear:

Apparently the fire department was called, but they weren’t able to get out into the middle of the ocean in time.

Garywt 02-26-2022 10:20 PM

They said it was Lithium batteries. How many have these parked in their garage car or cart. I read a car dealer had a Bentley on the ship that he had bought, said every car on the ship had already been sold. Sounds like their delivery time has been extended some.
