Try Kin insurance, they seem to have pretty good rates, go here for a free estimate : http://ref.kin.com/michael486

I have had Progressive with The Villages insurance for 6 years and have never had a large increase.

rustyp 02-27-2022 09:23 AM

Perhaps a substantial portion of the increases are due to rising house values. Are most of these policies "replacement cost" ?

Bonnevie 02-27-2022 09:32 AM

the increases are due to all the houses getting "free roofs" due to all the "storm damage" they have. the damage is questionable because the insurance company gives in because it's costs them more to fight it. it's fraud. I lived 3 miles from the Gulf of Mexico and we had real storms and I never saw this happening. unfortunately, those of us who choose not to do this are facing cancellations due to the age of our roofs or exorbitant raises in premiums. it's particularly galling because these people getting "free roofs" can very well afford to replace their roofs but somehow think because they've paid premiums all these years they are entitled to it.

Call Kin., had progressive thru Villages for 16 years, 21 yr. Ceramic tile roof (50 to 80 year roof), they wanted us to replace, went with Kin. no need for replacement, better coverage AND saved $200. 855-436-0868

Anyone who considers "KIN" insurance just make sure the quote you are getting is not for "depreciated value" rather than "replacement value" (unless that is what you actually want) for any possible future roof replacement. They kinda "slipped that in" to my quote which started off a lot cheaper than my current provider but when put back to full replacement value was about $12 less than what I am currently paying for a 2/2 Colony and so far minimal increases over the last 2 renewals (under $25 each) which of course could change this July. Bottom line is make 100% sure you are getting "apples to apples" quotes for ANY AND ALL COVERAGES from any company you check not "apples to kumquat" quotes. The online quotes likely may not be the coverage you currently have assuming of course you want the same coverage. People just throw numbers around here in these endless insurance rate quote topics and unless you know exactly what coverages are being quoted it means nothing.

Kin wants me to call to get a quote. So much for easy online

Not true. I have sinkhole coverage with Progressive.

A little off of the subject, but people need to think very hard about increasing limits on their policies.

Currently we are in Colorado and there have been a lot of news coverage about the wildfire in Boulder. Over 90% of the houses that burned down were under insured, some were as high as 50% under insured.

I have Kin Insurance. Try them

Suzay 02-28-2022 06:33 AM

Are insurance went up also..checked into Kin,then another quote with Farmers ,went with Farmers ,it was five hundred dollars cheaper with more additional coverage. Had a wind mitigation done which brought it down substantially.
