Why didn’t someone get those golf clubs further away from the fire?

Saw one burn like this at Chula Vista a week or so ago. Gas cart. Plenty of fuel in that plastic tank.

Aware of two close calls due to the belt slipping and smoking during a long ride and climbing the Turnpike bridge.

Wondering if some carts may not be designed to manage the long climbs over these bridges?

Yet another example of why parking an EV in your garage can be a huge mistake. Read about the huge cargo vessel that recently sank in the Atlantic because of a fire? Know what they were hauling? Lots of EV vehicles

This was a gas golf cart according to the person narrating the video. Also says in the description that is was a gas cart.

Gas cart you can pretty much bet it was leaking gas, owner should been smelling gas for awhile for it to go up into bond fire 🔥. Probably carburetor cart with lack of preventive maintenance (none). Outside chance the battery could do exploded, but gas tank usually on other side which make it highly unlikely to rupture gas tank. Electric short could cause this but it would smolder for awhile before it turn into inferno.

Smoking belt just going to smoke and slip and cart won’t move. Highly unlikely the belt would catch fire, but I suppose not impossible????, but some people are not sharpest knife in the drawer and just keep pushing the problem beyond no return???

It sounds so much better to infer it is the batteries some people have a one track mind

Helps to look at the link:

"This gas powered golf cart was totally destroyed by fire. Make sure you have good insurance to cover such an event."

Many seniors lose taste and smell - they can't smell the fumes. (they just know they have a headache after driving the cart) DOH!

I think I can fix it.

As far as designed, they are, most of them, designed as GOLF CARTS. Some add seating for four. All are sped up, the design is for 12 miles per hour. Average weight say 180, that is now 720 lbs of added people. It is not just the climbs.
On the way down the weight shifts forward. Still carrying that 720 lbs and for most you only have brakes on the rear wheels.

Adding a fancy body? It is not now a sports car. It is a golf cart with a fancy body.
