Even battery powered golf carts are a hassle and expensive to replace the storage. I'll trade my battery powered golf cart for a gas powered any day. I don't see anyone willing to do that. It's easy for retirees to laugh because they don't commute an hour each way to work EVERY day. By the way, those that heat their homes must also pay the increased price for energy. Don't forget what plastics are made of.

Yes, keep laughing but oil is here for the rest of OUR lives and even retirees will end up paying in the long run.

and i'm pretty sure you need coal to make electricity? correct me if i'm wrong, but that's just another fossil fuel

There's places I have been overseas that have been paying $6-8.00 gal for years. Guess what? Oil will be here for many more years. Those that want electric cars are the ones that do not have to work for a living and can afford the crazy high price of a car that might burn up in a heart beat. Until they find a sub for lithium batteries, expect to have to replace them every so many years for near as much as a new car, and also be wary of how you handle them because they can catch fire. Gas fueled cars are not the only fire hazard. Nice to think about how quiet they are and how easy to charge them at home, but good luck going on a long trip by auto. How many hours for each charge are you going to be sitting on the side of the road? And how many cars are in line in front of you? And how much are they going to charge you to charge your EV? Things that make you say "hmmmm?"
I'll take cheap gas and fossil fuel powered cars any day. Worried about the air? The aid is cleaner today than it was when I was a kid in the city.

this always seems to become a problem as efforts are being made to use more renewable energy and electric vehicles. the fact that despite living in Florida, MA and NJ have more solar power than Florida. I could never have a gas golf cart, even the supposedly quiet ones, it's like driving a lawn mower. we have been trying to get off dependence of gasoline since the 70s but somehow the gas guzzlers keep getting made. yes, I feel sorry for working people but if anything makes a case for more hybrids, that does.

V. Putin, obviously is responsible for the recent increase in gasoline prices. There is a bipartisan movement in Congress lead by the GOP with some Dem support to now cut off all imports of Russian oil to the US. [The EU gets 40% of its gas from Russia, we get 7 %] This will result in another major increase in prices. Will you still blame the never built XL pipeline?? Would you like the Ukrainians to surrender today so we can save a dollar a gallon and happily let Russia back into the international community as business partners and bankers?

Sometimes indeed freedom isn't free. Will you support a federal program to give financial support to those who need to use their vehicles for business use during this time of international disruption.. caused by Putin? That support should not come to me or likely you as we use gasoline for pleasure mostly.

$91.59 to $115.68 barrel in the last 7 days.

Putin for starting the war, futures traders for running the price up, and gas stations for taking advantage of the situation.

- While there is a slight increase in demand due to nicer weather in the south, that can't account for the tremendous increase in price.

- People point to the import of Russian oil but that has not been cut off for the US or, I believe for Europe - there is no less supply of oil.

- Some want to blame the Keystone XL but that hasn't changed the supply or demand in the last week.

The only thing that has changed is Putin started a war and the market decided that means there will be an oil and gas shortage and so the price should go up.

Two days ago we bought gas at $3.59, yesterday it was $3.79, and today $3.99. Did the stations sell so much fuel that they refilled their tanks twice already with more expensive product? Or, are they still selling the same fuel today but at $0.40 per gallon more than they were selling it for two days ago?
