New Golf Cart

I also purchased a new 2011 Yamaha gas from The Village golf cart store, I know I paid a few dollars more but I feel it was worth it for the convenience. I worked with Joel and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. Also went with the foremost insurance I have worked with progressive before and decided to go with foremost.

Will be at the villages next week to pick out our home and start the building process and also look at Yamaha gas golf carts. Is there a anything we should be aware of when purchasing; such as options, etc?

Thanks

The Villages Golf Car store, as well as Carts and Clubs (Yamaha dealer in Ocala), can show you what all they offer for equipment/accessories on their carts. You can pick and choose what you want unless you elect to buy a new one already set up or a used cart.

Here's a recent thread with peoples' feedback/thoughts on one dealer versus the other:

Hope that helps!

Lots of options!!!! I got the ultimate seats that have arm rest and lumbar support and they make it easier for me to reach the peddles. I got the dash with the locking glove boxes. Two side mirrors for each side of the cart. The overhead bin. The one thing I need to do is get and add on for my turn signal so I hear it when it is is on. We also got the LED light bar that goes across the top back of the golf cart. I have a speedometer and gas gauge too. What ever you want I am sure they can do it for you.

Hi WLC001,
With all the attention from Sumter Sheriff's dept. for speeding, I would definitely get a speedometer. :police:

BTW, WELCOME!

Are parts available for the do-it-yourselfer? I'd kind of like to fix up the cart myself. I'm a tinkerer (wife used to complain when I rebuilt a carb. on the dining room table) but I've never worked on a golf cart.

The local stores will more than likely sell you parts and accessories directly if you're inclined to want to go the DIY route. Also, there are several web sites that sell parts and accessories direct. Just a couple of examples:

BTW, Bob Sain is a Villager who installs excellent speedometers. Since he advertises on TOTV and has been recommended before, I guess it's probably ok to mention this. You might want to give him a call.

And if you can't afford it and you have a GPS for your car, it works great for golf cart.

Why do they called them "glove boxes"?

Just curious...
