How do you delete a broken link from search engines?

I'm taking my website down. Don't want people misdirected to it. I used to know how to take down broken links but forgot. Can someone tell me how to do it? Thanks!

You would go to the site you used to register your URL, and they will have the option.

I haven't ever abandoned a URL, so I don't know if you can remove yourself from the registry as the owner, it will fall off after the time you paid for it expires.

But if you just don't want the URL to point at your website, that I have done. :)

Personally, I don't remember how to delete a broken link.
However, I did know a blonde office manager (aka Secretary) that used to make corrections to my outgoing letters by using white out on her computer screen.

Go to your domain registrar and have all traffic routed to their DNS. Most registrars have a generic page to handle that sort of thing.

Wasn't she the same blonde that was seen frequently staring at a can of frozen orange juice because the can said "Concentrate" on it?

It will remove itself.

It's called a redirect . Your host will give you a page to direct to .
