Transportation to NH for medical reasons

I need to get my husband from TV back to family in NH for treatment at the Mass General Hospital. At the moment he is too sick to fly commercial flight.

If you have any ideas on how I can do this please let me know.

Amtrak maybe? Not quick or convenient but it can get you there.

There is also the bus. Greyhound is one.

if he is too ill for commercial air travel, and Mass General is your only acceptable choice, there are air ambulances you can charter. I don't know the cost but it will be in the tens of thousands of dollars.

Google private medical jet for options.

Another option [depending on how sick he is] is to hire a nurse to travel commercial with your husband.
HERE is a company that provides that service

Lastly, be sure to add into your deliberation the additional stress on his body of this long journey. Are you certain the additional advantage of MGH outweighs the disadvantage of the long trip. Only you can make that judgement.

Best wishes

if he's too sick to fly, you might consider talking to his doctor to see if the treatment could be done in FL, and when he's better fly him up to NH. Tampa General Hospital is excellent

Yes, I would agree to see if there was suitable treatment locally, Shands, Mayo Clinic, etc., at least sufficient to get him to a point where he could fly. Hope this helps.

My THANKS to everyone who wrote me to help. We have decided to ask his Hematologist to refer him to either Mayo or Shands and get his treatment transferred to his physician locally.

There are times when I wonder what I am doing on this chat line, then something like this happens and the nicest and most caring people in TV give wonderfully helpful solutions.

Good Luck!

Try searching the internet for companies that offer air ambulance. Below is one I have heard of:

Angel MedFlight

It’s not going to help now, but I’ve had this air transport medical coverage for the family for years. When we travelled as a family, I never wanted to not be able to get me, wife or kids back. I don’t think it’s insurance, it’s a membership.
Never thought of it for this sort of situation.

It’s reasonably priced.
