Painted DRIVEWAYS

Ok After reading all suggestions, most do not recommend pavers. I think easiest would be painted. Can I get some good recommendations of contractors you have used?

Driveways by Jay, contact Hometown Services to schedule. He did ours and several neighbors about 8 years ago, still in excellent condition. Also did our bird cage and most recently the lanai. Very pleased with his work and the final product.

Aesthetic Concrete Design by Amy Newsom did our driveway two years ago. Excellent job!

Another vote for Amy. She stained our front porch and small back lanai last year. She measured everything out beforehand and said that it came out to $380 but that she would have to charge me $400 as that was their minimum charge. She’s very honest and did a great job. Does driveways but we didn’t have that done.

Amy Newsom did our lanai, front porch and walk about 5 years ago. Her team did a great job. We made a decision not to do the garage or driveway as we had done before on previous Florida houses. Good decision! But to each his own…

One more vote for Amy Newsome. She's the best.

Edison ConCreations is a great company to work with. Did many driveways around my neighborhood. Give them a call. Recommended by Talk of the Villages

Avoid Artisticrete

I found the salesman for Artisticrete very genuine. The quoted price was competitive. I decided to use them versus another company, because my neighbor used them. However, the workers were very sloppy and arguing with each other all the time. Their work was blotchy and uneven. They left bits of tape and paper everywhere. If they had spent more time on their work and less time time bickering, I would have had a better looking result.

We used Florida Deck to do ours and love it. It's not paint, more of an epoxy material but not slick when wet. They have many different designs that you can choose from. You can look at their work on their website. They have the addresses of the houses they have done work for so you can drive by and see how it looks. Not the cheapest but will last.

I highly recommend Finney's.

Did Amy do the decorative design on your driveway?

Beware of Decorative Concrete of Florida

I approached my neighbor and asked who had painted their driveway. She gave me a business card but told me to beware because the owner was hard to deal with. Not heeding the warning, I called and left a message that I was interested in getting a quote to paint my driveway and sidewalk. He (Cliff) left me a message and told me if I was getting other quotes that, he couldn't help me. How pompous. I should have heeded the initial warning.

I suppose he was expecting you to tell him he had the job no matter what he wanted to charge.

We used Cliff. He is "abrasive".

If you get past that, he does good work. We are happy with the work he and his crew did. They were on time, they did a good job, the way I wanted it, and fixed any issues I had. I see he is now offering textured finishes, and I wish we had that option when we had ours done.

But, Cliff is "difficult". He speaks very fast, he speaks more than he listens, and he comes across abrasive. I expect he is on the spectrum - I don't know - but that is my guess.

That is my experience with him.
