Palm tree removal?
 

Has anyone had a palm removed? Would love to remove one and replace with crepe myrtle tree

As from previous posts, you may know, I'm not a fan of palm trees, we had all three, trimmed to 4 inches below ground level. They harbor critters and palm crap that needs maintenance constantly. As beautiful as the Villages keeps our grounds, the only criticism is when we have a storm, it is the only mess visible. Good luck.

We just had 2 tall palms removed from our backyard. Ameritree did the work for a very good price. Cleaned up everything. You could hardly tell they were here.

They won't have you pay until you're satisfied. Very good communication as well.

Beautiful trees but so glad our neighbors have them and they get to care for them.

Agree with MX rider - can't go wrong with Ameritree! They removed our dead Pindo palm, stump ground the roots, hand dug the pit for the new palm's root ball and planted a new Pindo. Matt and crew were knowledgeable, cooperative and would not accept second best when the first Pindo delivered was not acceptable! It took two days to find an acceptable replacement and they came back with a beauty taken straight from the field! Clean-up during and after the project was swift and complete. And the price was the best of several quotes we had for the same work. They also provided info and direction re caring for the new palm once planted. It has been 3 weeks and the palm is thriving!

I had several crepe myrtles and found their flowers stained my concrete walk, and if you have them on the lawn, they will drop leaves all over. I found we were better off with no trees.

You are planting a real mess maker

As some have said the crepe myrtles are messy with blooms and then leaves in the late fall. Then you have a bare tree for a couple months. Decide if you are going to let it grow or cut it back annually. If left to grow it will be HUGE in a few years

Moving plants
 

I'm a New Yorker, the only difference I know from one plant to another is if they are real or plastic. I had two sort of palms in a pot about a year ago I moved them to a bed on the side of my house. What a mistake they are now about four times the size, what I would like is to have them moved to the back of the house. Will either of the companies mentioned do that or are there any other suggestions.

I am thinking that no one has ever had a Palm Tree removed.

Just a heads up that Magnolia leaves are the perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes. The leaves hold enough moisture.
