Auto Insurance info and registration
It always confuses me when it comes to Insurance info and registration information for our vehicles in Florida.
What do the officers really need? Both, if found by strangers in the glove box, can give your personal information away like addresses. Cheers! |
To end the paranoia keep them in your wallet or purse.

Every state We have lived in required to have registration and proof of insurance with vehicle.
But I guess you could carry it in your wallet. I also have a pdf of registration and insurance stored on phone. |
Its the same for most states.
|
Florida seems to allow electronic versions of your insurance but not sure about registration. Since we travel out of state frequently and don't know the laws in other states we always keep them in the car.
Name to address lookups are fairly easy to find. Having that information in the car makes it a little easier but not much. I would be more concerned that someone broke into (or stole) my car. |
If you carry it in your wallet, how does that help you wife when she gets pulled over in your car ?
