3-wheel Electric Bike Referrals

My health demands I change from a 2 wheel bicycle to a 3 wheel powered/electric bike. I've been doing a lot of research, but the 3 wheel versions seem much more rare and harder to find. Meaning, Local shops don't carry them and online shopping is risky and costly to return items.

I do see a retail store in Clearwater (Wheels 'n Drones) that sells the Addmotor brand (Model M-340) of 3 wheelers. I'll be giving them a call.

Does anyone have, or know someone who has, a fat tire 3 wheel electric bike they're thrilled with?

Sparky's Green Rides in Crystal River has several different brands they carry.

OPINION-mine. Re: health issues. Perhaps, a woman's bike-step through frame would help you. If, you have ridden a two wheel bike around here, a three wheeled bike is of course wider and less maneuverable. My sister, does not live in Fla, bought a three wheeled bicycle. I gave her the same advice. She never rides it. Of course she would not say-yes, you told me.

Balance issues recommends a 3 wheel. Step thru women’s bike will not correct the potential of losing balance in a turn, and the falls that could be potential fractures. Smaller base 3 wheels are coming on the market, even though they are wider, it’s a safe way for someone to still enjoy a bike ride to and from home, instead of to a trip to ED.

I also needed a three wheel bike because of balance issues. I was fortunate to find a used one in good shape that I was able to get for a decent price. It is electric, has fat tires and I find it easy to ride. The most important thing to remember is that it's heavy and needs a lot of time and thought before making turns. Because of the heaviness, I need to use a tad of electric to be able to pedal for exercise. Make sure that you have enough room in your garage because it takes up a lot of space.

I used to ride an electric powered tricycle in order to commute to work. I recommend you get one with 2 wheels in the front and 1 in the back. I believe it will be safer around corners.

Tadpole Bike

I have the same problem. Seems best bet is a 3 wheel "Tadpole. Village Cycles will sell you one or companies like this link.

Village Cycles sells both tadpole and single front wheel trikes and can install the electrical system of your choice.

4 wheel bikes

They are also selling 4 wheel bikes now. Might want to compare those since more stable than 3 wheelers….

I bought a RAD Ebike online and was perfectly satisfied. There are several brands that are headquartered in the US that have good reputations and sell online.

I have a custom made three wheel pedal/electric bicycle that is for sale in The Villages. $750.
