Rakes for bunkers

Can’t we afford to put more than two rakes in a bunker. It’s ridiculous and many are leaving them unraked because of it. Will help speed up play too.

Is that really the case, not enough rakes??? Personally, I think people just got used to not doing from COVID.... I actually 3-D printed my own rake that fits on the handle of your golf club. It worked great and I can attach to my bag or keep it in my cart...

Not sure additional rakes will solve the issue. I played Saturday and watched a person step over the rake to get into the trap. And again to get out. Thank you to the ones who do rake the trap after your shot.

I play golf most every day. Not even ONE time, have I seen a shortage of rakes in a bunker and I've been in plenty of them. I only play the Championship courses, so that might make a difference.

Don’t you bring the rake with you into the bunker so you can rake on your way out.

Rakes for bunkers

Bought a rake at a garage sale for a dollar. Cut handle off 18". Put rake in little hole between golf bags. Never have to walk to get rake. In and out when I get my sand wedge. Problem solved. Now if I could just solve my hitting the ball in the trap.

Played a course up north where each golf cart got a rake (no rakes In the traps) which worked out well until about the third whole when I realized I left the rake in the previous trap.

Harbor Hills does that. Rakes in the cart.

Rake goes with me, so I can rake on my way back out...

The biggest problem is misplacement in the bunkers. The rake should be placed almost fully in the trap with the handle outside so it can be easily reached without stepping in to get it with the handle covered in sand. Most people aren’t going to bother raking if he/she can’t reach it easily.

Executive courses are short on rakes. No idea about championship. I was shocked to find a third rake on 1 of 9 holes. A small miracle

Topspinmo 04-28-2022 09:44 AM

Well, two are plenty, what expect the bunker to lined with rakes? You get the rake before you enter the bunker, make you shot, then rake you’re path out.

If they can't be bothered to walk the 5 feet to reach either of the two available rakes, what makes you think they'll bother with more rakes?

If the bunkers aren't being raked, it's not because there are two rakes. It's because no one is using either of the two rakes.

It was probably there because someone moved it away from whichever hole only has 1 rake.
