Decades ago, I discovered that I like country music. I used to listen to a local station while working in my flowerbeds. I was into growing as many different kinds of daylilies as I could find. I worked in my flowerbeds a lot, and that country station was my background music. I like country music because the lyrics always tell a story, and I still associate country music with my daylilies phase.
The Judds were coming to town, so I got tickets. Great seats. Two gorgeous, talented women, mother and daughter, put on a wonderful, high energy show with some light banter between them. (Some of the banter was a little catty, but it was all in good fun.) They looked so happy together. It was a lovely evening — a long time ago.
“We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness,” was the statement made today, as the family asked for privacy. Sad news, indeed. What a tragic end to their story.
