Anybody See This?

Yesterday riding along I saw what is shown in the attached photo. Looks like it could have been a fire or explosion, but who knows.

We saw it as well, strange looking.

I think it was from them taking the Water Tower and Windmill down in Brownwood.

Wrong direction. We were at the intersection of Morse and 466, this was due west of there.

If you look closely there is a smoke column rising from the ground, probably someone burning a pile of trees removed for new construction. Happens all the time. The warm air from the fire rises and condenses in the cooler air above. That along with the smoke particles that the moisture can cling to makes a temporary cloud. Out west some big wildfires do this and can actually make huge clouds that produce lightning. Amazing!

Nothing like a plume dominated fire, especially when the column comes crashing down around 2:00 in the morning.

It was the guy looking for a place to put his grill while he’s up north, someone told him it had to be hot before he cleaned it…

And we are preached to daily that we are causing pollution by driving a gas car!

That explains it, we live in the general area and a couple times each week we get a very strong smell of smoke from a fire outside. It typically happens at night, but recently it has happened during the day.

That’s Ed Crankshafts house. He’s just doing a little barbecuing!

We watched this for a bit of time. It is believed to have been a lengthy controlled burn. What we witnessed was the smoke from the fire turning into a CLOUD!! The sky was otherwise cloudless. It was a first time experience for us. In checking the Web, a meteorologist called this a pyrocumulus cloud noting they can grow to the point of creating a thunderstorm. Happy Mother's Day, Mother Nature, you are awesome!
