Katharine Hepburn. What's your favorite movie of her's?

She was quite the heroine according to my roommate/girlfriend back in Minneapolis, MN. My girlfriend back then was the daughter of a theater actress so was probably very much pushed into having an actress as a role model.

Mine is The African Queen.

Ditto, plus any film she made with Spencer Tracy.

I have been a huge Humphrey Bogart fan since I was under 10 years old.

I've always admired how she played the role in "The African Queen"...others stood out too...most though, I enjoyed her performance in "On Golden Pond"...opposite Henry Fonda

it was classic

I love all her movies, but I love Philadelphia Story with Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart the best!

PugMom 05-12-2022 07:12 PM

YES! another good one! great thread!

Garywt 05-12-2022 09:59 PM

I think On Golden Pond was the only thing I saw her in.

The Philadelphia Story, Bringing Up Baby, and of course, The African Queen. Hard to pick from those three.

go on amazon prime & check out Rooster Cogburn. she's alongside john wayne, & the 2 of them just hit it off on screen. it's a feel good movie, quite enjoyable & great chemistry

Philadelphia Story. That’s one of the all time great movies. It helped that she played her role on stage for two years before filming it. Also, Howard Hughes purchased the film rights for her, and she sold them to MGM for a lot of money and the right to choose the director, screenwriter, and actors. Bringing Up Baby is also great. It bombed two years before Philadelphia Story was made, and she was called “box office poison.” That’s why she worked so hard to make Philadelphia Story a success. It was almost twenty years before Bringing Up Baby was recognized as a classic. Her comedies with Spencer Tracy are also fun. When I was in college, the film society at my school had a Screwball Comedy Festival that included about a dozen films, including those two. I’d never heard of Screwball Comedies. Watch as many as you can!
