Attorney to handle contractor breach of contract
 

Anyone have a rec for an attorney to handle a case against a contractor who is in breach of an contract to build a building? Agreed upon price…clearly in contract…contractor five months behind completion schedule due to their errors, not supply issues…and without significant additional payment, said walking away from the job, leaving us high and dry. Reputable local company. Or at least we thought…

The sad reality of our legal system. Right, wrong, legal and cost of recovering damages is not simple or FAIR. An attorney will cost you roughly $300 a hour.

After the issues, would you want, trust, this company to do the job and do it right? A very important question.

OP, before you go the attorney route, try Seniors against Crime (a division of the FL attorney Generals office) and the BBB, file complaints with both to see if you can get this back on track or refunded. If that fails, then I would go small claims (not sure of the limits) or a full fledged lawyer. I cannot provide a recommendation as I have no experience in this area.
