Rec center wi-fi resident wireless log in

Need some help. I have had the occasion to be at a rec center for some time and found there was a wi-fi connection available called "resident wireless". I'm have been unable to sign in to use the wi-fi as the log in asks for a "Golf ID" and PIN. I don't golf, so I don't have a golf ID, what that that is, or if I need to get one to use resident wireless.

Can I sign into rec center resident wireless without a golf ID? If not, where do I obtain said ID and PIN?

Thanks!

Viking

You do have a golf ID and PIN.

Your "golf" ID is the ID number on your Villages ID card.

Your PIN was set up when they created your ID card. Mine came on a piece of paper I have in a file. I imagine there is a way to retrieve a forgotten PIN and the information is probably on the districtgov.com site. (Essentially says call the Customer Service Center, 8-5 weekdays, at (352) 753-4508)

“If you do not know your PIN number, please call the Tee Time Office at 352-750-4558 to obtain your PIN number.”

At least you have a Wi-Fi signal at your pool…

Remember public Wi-Fi is not necessarily secure.

I use my phone as a hotspot so I know it's secure.

Once you sign in to a rec center wifi connection, you will automatically be signed in every time you enter any rec center. That is a recent feature of the system.

Isn’t that a phone function?

I don't think so. In the past, you needed to enter your Villages ID and golf PIN, and accept their terms and conditions every time you wanted to log in to a rec center wifi service. But, approximately six months ago, you could just enter a rec center, and the system would automatically connect your phone to the wifi system without doing anything.
