Car Window washer fluid
 

Ok, been awhile since I drained windshield washer tank , probably over 3 years? The washer fluid will eventually coagulate and plug up the pump. Luckily, I remembered to do mind before this happen. The old fluid had bunch of what looked like little white noddles in it.

Some vehicles pretty easy to remove tank and give it good flush. In my case not that easy beings it’s buried under the front fender and in front of front tire. I don’t drive In rain that much so fluid don’t get replaced hardly at all. Anyway, FYI it interested?

Put a hose in the tank and let it flush out.

I guess I use my washer a lot more, never heard of this. My car sits out, so it regularly gets pollen and dust on the windshield, and I use the washer to clen it off.

We always use rain X washer fluid. Costs a little bit more than the cheap blue stuff, but works great, the water beads up and flows off the windshield when raining. Have never cleaned out a washer fluid tank and never had a problem.

Have owned many cars . Never flushed window washer. Never had a clog. Some cars were owned by me for 8 or more years. Am I missing something?

I’ve been driving a long time (83) freezing weather, hot weather , rainy weather and I’ve never heard of this service and don’t think it will ever be on my to do list

Agree, if you use washer enough probably won’t ever run into this problem. My car 10 years old and unless on trip In winter I rarely have to use it. Like said for FYI. Take it for what’s it worth. I get feeling some don’t even know where to put fluid in let alone know the condition.

Don't forget to vaseline the threads before reassembly. A tight seal will help prevent a weak stream and deliver maximum performance.

If you trade/lease every few years you will never have this problem.

I turn my car in every 5 or 6 years , it sits for many months when I’m not here, I mentioned this to a friend in Boston whose had his car for 11 years , he only has 40, ooo on it because he can walk everywhere , he’s never heard of it either , your right about one thing I wouldn’t know where to look as I’ve never opened the hood on any of my cars in the last 30 years or so , of course I don’t cook or clean either lol

There words not mine. I’d you use washer enough you will never have product go bad. In my case I don’t use it enough and it just sets in tank for years.

Did he look in tank? Imagine in Boston he uses it enough to empty it out every year? IMO hard believe car lasted 11 years in Boston…:)

Not so in my case, i need loose stream to empty the my tank……:pray:
