Is the Deluna West postal station in operation?
 

We will be taking possession of our new home in about a week and was wondering if the postal station is operational?

No DeLuna west residents here?

We were told August. All mail is being diverted to the Lady Lake post office for now.

Im more ****ed the pool isnt open yet. It looks 100% ready. The 20 year old in me is ready to jump the fence. (The 60 year old in me might require a ladder to do so tho)

Yes, I'm in DeLuna. I really don't get much mail, I do paperless (online) for everything that I can. The odd small Amazon item is almost always being sent their though. I'm not too worried about it. Short term annoyance.

Jump the fence? It's not locked and people have been using the pool for weeks now. I'm not sure if it's officially open but it's been in use for awhile now.

It wasn’t open yesterday when we rode over there to check the place out. We are staying in Citrus Grove for the time being.

I went over there 2 days in a row and it was locked. I met a couple there and they said that people were using it the day before so they didn't understand why it was locked. This was Saturday and Sunday. I didnt bother calling anyone and Im busy with other things today but Ill ride by again to look.

Breaking news! Update on postal deliveries
 

As a new DeLuna owner, who already lives in The Villages, I went to the Lady Lake USPS office today to do two things. To see if I had any mail there, and to set up a mail forwarding order from DeLuna to my current address until they start delivering in DeLuna. The USPS clerk, Jose, talked me out of it because of the following information.
1. USPS will start deliveries at West Deluna sometime in July.
2. It would take 2-3 weeks for mail forwarding to start so it doesn't make sense for me to start forwarding mail now.
3. The post office in Lady Lake will keep all mail we get until they start delivery to DeLuna, and then they will deliver all the accumulated mail to our boxes in DeLuna. They won't return anything just because we don't pick it up.

So, since I don't expect any important mail right away at DeLuna, I don't need to drive to Lady Lake to check my mail. Others may have a need to do so. I've never been wrong before, but there is always the first time.
