Looking for a machine shop that can custom make a pair of angle irons for me. Anyone have any suggestions that you have used?

Do you have a source for scrap and can you make a vise stand?

Yes, I am sure I could make a vise stand, however I do not have a source for scrap steel, you would need to research this on your own. However, I would like to talk to you before you go and get any material. I am not sure or your final project or use, but there are workshop benches that work very well for mounting a vise, I have one in my garage. Bench was aroud $130 from Harbor Freight several years ago.

Have a link to the bench?

Go to Harbor freight, these are kit form, I used the drawers, and eliminated the shelf, and added a piece of plywood on the back legs to hang tools. I also have work benches from Home Depot, Husky Brand. These are steel with stainless steel tops and as I recall come with or without wheels, they are very sturdy, and mine are almost 9 years and look like new.

You can purchase stuff like angle iron all all different gauges. It is easily cut with a circular saw fitted with a metal cutting blade. It has regularly spaced holes in it and it thus is easy to simply bolt together.

Mine is at least 60-70 years old. Solid rock maple. The materials, if you could find them would cost a fortune.
