Long Term Car Rental

Rather than driving down to my house in The Villages, I am planning on flying and will be staying thru mid November. Does anyone know of a company (not the big name ones) that rents cars long term for a reasonable price?

I don't want to say that there is no such thing, but the best you may find is a discounted monthly rate. Still going to be spendy after fees, taxes, mileage, etc multiplied by several months of rental.

I'd consider purchasing a cheap used car outright, if you just need something to get ya from points A-B, then selling it off when you're all done. You may end up reselling it for more than you paid, or least breaking even vs $20-40 a day going down the drain w/ zero return.
just my $0.02.

It's probably cheaper to have your car shipped down on an open trailer. We have a friend that would do that every winter for 4 months at a time. There are also people that will drive your car down for you at a reasonable price as they want to get here too but check with your insurance company first on that route.

Call enterprise for a quote. Insurance companies were only paying 25 a day for long term rentals

With car rental rates currently sky high, the "buy and sell" routine may be the way to go

Rather than "rental", search for "lease" as that is sometimes what the companies call it for periods of 3+ months

Or rent a golf cart, everything you need is golf cart accessible unless you have a need to see the mouse house!

Depend on where you are, check on the train, couple time we drove to VA and put the van on the train, convenience and low cost

that means NEVER leaving the Villages community. You definitely need a car here. Hospitals, restaurants, stores, airport, ANYTHING of interest to you. No guests from out of state? friends coming sown in the winter? Grandchildren visiting? Seriously, a golf cart alone will not cut it, Jebartle

Seriously?! What a disrespectful reply! I'm sure OP has done an internet search but is interested in the opinions of those from this group - maybe someone has done something similar. I, for one, am glad OP asked the question - and I'm interested in the responses.

So true. If you must see the mouse rent a car for the day.

Check “touro” online. Specify pickup point or delivery as an option…. then check references

Hi. I have an older Lexus RX350 that I’m not using and you can rent it for that time. The car is always serviced by Lexus and runs great. My name is Lou and you can call me on my cell 973-452-4753
I have pictures I can send you

That didn't take long, why so snarky? One could say she is doing an internet search.

Been here for many winters with nothing but a golf cart, don’t miss or need a car one bit!
