Can Pickleball save America ?

A friend sent me this link to an interesting story about pickleball in The New Yorker.

No, but it makes orthopedic surgeons quite wealthy.

It's my favourite sport of all time. So grateful for it.

ditto!

It game for exercise. 1% or less takes it serious enough to become pro and get paid to play.

Isn’t that pretty much the case with every sport ?

Pretty sad if anyone actually believes that the problems with America are so trite and insignificant that they can be cured by smacking a ball over a net.

I think "when people stop pretending that anything like pickleball can save America" we'll be on our way back to making some progress in improving the country.

We are an Adult Community with many exercise activities. Some of us play Pickleball, softball, basketball, golf, cycling, swimming, etc. for exercise and fun. Others in TV are active in other fun social activities such as (clubs, dancing, board games) We have several “outlets” from world problems and issues including picklebalI that the article headlines. I think the article was aimed at those who don’t have fun/exercise etc. but rather spend too much time and energy on “things” they have no control. They get stressed out with political social media rants and can become confused “computer/couch potatoes”. Just my thoughts on the New Yorker article.

Only if it's naked pickleball.

Favorite isn’t it, I never point this out but I see it often so I tested spell check and it changed it to this. Use to see people spell program as programme as well which drove me crazy. Anyway have a great night.

There are pro players? Never would have thought.

I have never played or watched anyone play. I have no desire to try it either so it will not save me.

If you speak British or Canadian English, favourite can be a correct spelling.
