Outdoor lamp post sensor
 

Does anyone know of someone reliable who could install a new sensor on our outdoor lamp post?

You can either replace the sensor or replace the bulbs with "dawn to dusk" bulbs if the light is always on. If you want to replace the sensor, I would suggest that you take a photo of it and go to ACE Hardware or Lowes and buy a new sensor. Having the part on hand may save you some money. Here are some handymen who can probably do it:

Another option is to call an electrician. Any of them can do it, but I would get a quote before having them come to your house.

When we moved here quickly found sensor had failed. Went to lowes told him what we needed and got me the part.

Had hired handyman (since retired) for a bunch of things and was a snap for him to install.

Hubby is not handy at all. Well, maybe a little. He once replaced the fill valve in our toilet.

Anyway.......we went to Ace Hardware and purchased the lamp post sensor. Hubby watched YouTube Videos how to install the sensor and he actually did it!!! I was so proud of him!

Not handy and electricity can be a bad thing, at least it's outside and the house wot burn down.

Have learned that me and electricity often do not work well together. Better to hire someone who knows what they are doing.

Hubby flipped the breaker to turn off the electricity before he even began working on it. He may not be handy but he knows that much.

If he successfully completed that job he’s pretty handy due to wiring down in hole.

Thank you for saying that. That was the tricky part but he got it. He supported the light part on a ladder so he had both hands free to fish the part down. He was pretty proud of himself when he completed the job.

Often easier to learn from dumb things others have done You save a lot of time not to have to make all the mistakes yourself. Honest, not me. We have three bulbs in our outside pole fixture.
My neighbor, who was at one time a janitor. Replaced the sensor only to discover all three of the bulbs were blown. Aside, our sensor is now 9 years old and still going.
The bulbs in our fixture, I replaced them with LED bulbs after the first bulb blew so they are at least 8 and a half years old.

Been there. Done that. When I was young and foolish.

Grant Electric replaced the sensor for me: no muss, no fuss, no bother.
