Steak and Shake, Sad Sight.
 

My wife and I stopped in at Steak and Shake on 466 after church last weekend.
We had some gift cards and thought we would use them up.

What a sad sight.
3 maybe 4 cars in the parking lot.
5 people total in the dining room.

We attempted to use the kiosk to order and had trouble ordering two meals.
No one in sight to help, so we left and went to Culvers.

They wouldn't be in business to long.

Dont be too concerned. Fast Food will always survive in The Villages.

They are busy lunch time during the week. Not sure if it’s over flow from other packed fast food or it’s their first choice. Staffing is still a problem everywhere, so couldn’t get help while u were there is a norm. But I am not keen on Mobil order, but now use it all the time

Love S&S, best fries anywhere. Food is delivered fast and hot.

The kiosk are great, easy to use to get what you really want. This is the future of fast food - get used to it...

Time will tell but they have a long way to go to catch McDonalds

They use to serve breakfast, but since the pandemic, it never came back.

I agree. I also think that the have the best fast food burgers of all the chains. I don’t know how McDonald’s stays at number one. The are my last choice for fast food.

They will be closing this location soon.

How to screw up a perfectly good business, ask SS! Charm and Nostalgia was their uniqueness, so much for that.

We remember going in SS and had to wait for a table to eat.
Pennys and Sears took 10-12 years to go to the bottom of the barrel, SS took 1 1/2 years

Well getting help is pathetic. Our economy is like a 3rd world country!

Back where we moved from (Norfolk, VA), we had a Steak and Shake open and shut down the same month. This was several years ago.

Their decline is directly related to being bought by Biglari Holdings, a Texas hedge fund.
