COVID Case Update

As most Villagers know, The Villages spans through three different counties. Here are the number of new COVID cases as of Sept. 8, according to the CDC website.

In Lake County, there have been about 169 new cases over the last week. Twelve of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and about four deaths were reported.

In Marion County, there have been 200 new cases. About 17 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and about four deaths were reported.

In Sumter County, there have been about 140 cases. Twelve of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and no deaths were reported.

The CDC updates the number of new cases regularly, if not daily, and anyone can view the numbers by visiting covid.cdc.gov.

Would have expected “ALMOST” no deaths as there was almost 4 deaths in Lake County.

About 4 deaths?

Just a quick note to all: these statistics do not include people that tested positive at home, and just quarantined (and didn't report their positive test).
I wonder how many of these there are...

I guess the numbers would be higher if the pandemic wasn't over.
