I was right after all...

In a previous post I had stated that the TSA's new body scanner was going to end up being a PC copout when it came to Islam. CAIR has already taken a stand and mullahs have already issued fatwa declaring new body scanners a violation of Islamic law.

Now what do we do?

Tell the mullahs - "Fine - the Greyhound station is over there, and it's that direction to the train station."

My opposition is that it's Security Theater and does nothing to actually BE more secure.

I think it is a huge deterrent. They scared the heck out of me when they confiscated my beloved pocketknife.

I so totally support the use of body scanners....it is better than being fondled.

Has anybody seen any information about the danger of radiation accumulated...say for a frequent flyer?

Remember when they used to xray our feet to see if our shoes fit?

Why is a muslim woman's modesty legally more important than mine????

It isn't and that is exactly the point.

We are being tested on every front they can push to yield to their desires while trodding all over we the people's rights every single day.

They must sit around and laugh at the way they can swing the politicians around with little or no effort.

They are no more untouchable than any of the rest of us and if they don't like it.....stay home or take the bus.

I also lost a great tiny swiss army pocket knife I didn't realize was in the pocket of a coat I grabbed to take up north. It had a 1 and a half inch blade on it, and God knows what could have happened if they allowed me to keep it.

Everyone has to make up their own mind about being irradiated every time they fly and let some hidden TSA agent view the virtual strip search images that are produced. I'm guessing the new "profiling" measures will mean something quite different for women and young girls.

I also thought the pat downs I've endured in the past were bad enough, but now they're described as "probing". You can make up your own mind about this, but what about the children? ("Listen Johnny and Susie, only Mommy, Daddy, the doctor and Government Officials are allowed to touch your private parts")

I will be driving up north in the future, or riding the rails, and avoiding my frequent flying. If everyone does as I do, the TSA will eventually cave or the airlines will fail.

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -- Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania (1759)

I reported this in the travel forum a week ago after I was forced into a fondling incident. Still working with TSA and the civil rights division on that.

Of course, I like the body scanners mainly because I have 2 implants and fly almost every week, after 6 years it is really getting old. The only thing the metal detector picks up now are people with implants or some type of medical metal and guys with swiss army knives their father gave them. (I help a nice old guy out of security and back to the gift shop so he could mail the knife home...he was in tears.)

My problem is being fondled...no wands now they just feel you up and women get a double dose. Men get the package check and women get that and a pretty good grope in the chest area. And not with the back of the hand anymore. I told the TSA agent only myself and my doctor were allowed to touch there. We tell our children to not allow this type of touching and to report anyone who does and now OUR GOVERNMENT is molesting people.

So if you haven't seen the clip yet here it is:

Here, once again, we find ourselves on the same side of an issue. I also have a couple of medical implants. I have implants in my left femur and left tibia due to a serious motorcycle accident and because of these have also been subjected to pat downs, but so far not the probing kind.

There are plenty of stories of humiliating invasive searches by TSA agents and this procedure is still in it's infancy. The worst is yet to come.

I only fly recreationally and am willing and able to give that up. I don't know if my favorite airline, JetBlue, will miss me, but if there are enough like me I know they will.

I hear Janet Napolitano is considering a waiver for Muslim women. Imagine that? Increased security and muslims getting a waiver? Maybe you could fly wearing a burka soon and be spared this indignity.
