Wonder what would have happened if the steel plate didn't move?

Seems hard to believe the golf ball would flatten out like an over easy egg.

My guess is that this is not a 'modern' ball. If you read the story below they say it might be a more liquid practice ball. Sounds like a job for Mythbusters!
