Wildwood Post Office Mailbox
 

Any idea why USPS Wildwood does not have a place to mail packages or letters when they are closed? Drove there tonight to drop off a package. :cus:

There is a drop slot in the lobby where the PO boxes are for letters. Don't know about packages. I have never seen an after hours package dropoff. Up north, we have a USPS in the mall which keeps mall hours and is very convenient but I don't know of anywhere else like that.

Main post office in Lady Lake has after hours package drop box but often it's overstuffed and the box can't be too big. They used to be opened 24hours.

Have to say we wouldn’t go to wildwood post office after hours. All of our post office up north had 24 hours options for mail, and sending smaller packages. So far we haven’t found a post office anywhere near TV

Is the area near Wildwood Post Office not safe at night?

Wildwood area shopping is pretty sparse, even during the day, not many people around. Have never had any problems stopping at the post office, or at Miz Cathy’s restaurant. The plaza has businesses , but we don’t frequent stores or restaurant, just post office. Main Street has vacancies not much interest for me. Just not comfortable after dark, in a area we don’t frequent often.

I have lived and worked nearby for over 5 years and have yet to hear or read about any crime in that plaza, I go there all the time and it's very busy. Great Mexican restaurant, great Ace hardware, pharmacy, furniture stores, doctors, vet, etc. there is rarely a vacancy in that plaza. The only problem there is the post office, it is extremely busy, especially at this time of the year and the lines are usually out the door. Before I opened my store in downtown I asked all the neighbor businesses if they have ever had a problem, they all answered that they have not. I feel safe and comfortable here, I arrive in the dark and I leave in the dark this time of the year and it doesn't bother me. The Wildwood police do not allow vagrants or homeless sleeping around town, they are either told to leave or arrested for trespassing, the officers do a good job.
